Consistent Action Equals Results
Good day, this is Revvell Revati of BodaciousLiving on The WIN!
When I was going to a lot of networking meetings, I’d ask other women how they were doing and they’d say “Oh, busy, busy” and I’d ask, “Busy making money or just busy doing stuff?”...
We tend to think that as long as we’re doing SOMEthing, we’re making headway. Well, if the something is not leading you towards creating income, then, it’s not making headway.
Of course, all this busyness needs to be taken care of yet, if you’re not taking action directly on your business ~ making the phone calls, writing, the blogs, doing the podcasts, etc. Then, you’re not making headway.
Take action on your outcomes... the rest will happen or, schedule the other stuff around the creating income or important-to-you stuff. Cleaning house, checking email, Facebook, Twitter... do it in the morning... then move on to your biz.
I get up early so, I do the things that bring me personal joy such as movement, learning a language, learning an instrument, etc. So, for me, harmonica and piano for instruments; Spanish, Danish and Sign for languages; and a good amount of movement which currently includes 30+ rounds of Swimming Dragon qigong daily and then walking, kettlebells, Bulgarian Training bag, clubs, hooping, dancing, stair push-ups ~ just a variety of various things which I may choose to do throughout the day.
Email, Facebook, Twitter and other social media is a question. If you, like I do, use social media to promote your business, then you’ve got to pay attention to it. I usually get that done in the morning. If I’ve got requests to add friends on FB, I’ve got a form letter thanking them for the request... I ALWAYS go to their profile and see if they are someone I’d like to have as a “friends”... and then either accept their friendship and ask that they also “like” my fan page; or, I tell them I’ve almost reached my limit of “friends” and would they be so kind as to “like” my fan page. I keep my time doing that to 3-5 a morning. Twitter I go through once a week or so. I’ve got 3 profiles so, it can take some time.
Email ~ I’ve unsubscribed from most of the newsletters I’ve been receiving so I can focus on the two companies/businesses I am currently involved with. One is “The WIN online”. They do so much and are so involved, that, it’s pretty much a full time job for me to record a weekly podcast and article; a blog and be involved in their other activities. The other is someone I’m doing a year long program with. Other than than, I’ve emptied my box and everything else I “may” be interested in goes directly into folders ~ which I tend to not even look at. (I’ve dumped a bunch of those as well).
After checking morning email, shut it down unless you ABSOLUTELY need it for business and are not just using it as a distraction from what you know you “should” be doing for your business.
The thing I’ve found most helpful though is to plan my day ~ get up early, do the mundane, then get to work. My “work” day begins at 9... I write the 3-4 most important money making items I need to do that day and get them done. When they’re done, that’s when my work day ends. Not until.
Also, as if I were working in an office, I take time to take care of myself. I take at least 30 minutes to have a healthy lunch; If I’m not overly busy that day, I may go out for a walk which may mean a loooong lunch. I take 10-15 minute breaks where I may do some movement. I keep fluid on my desk at all times.
Consistent, persistent action will get your business where you want it to go. Remember, what you focus on expands. Focus on the mundane, you stay mundane. Focus on your biz, your biz grows!
That’s it for today! Thank you for listening. Feel free to leave comments and/or questions.
