Bonnie Mechelle weighed almost 300 pounds and she tried almost everything to lose weight: pills, powders, pre-portioned meals, expensive slimming spa treatments, gym memberships and private personal training. All of these things actually worked for her… for about a month, then (like most people) she reverted right back to her old habits of frequent fast food trips and sitting sedentary at her computer at home and at work.

One day she sat down and seriously went to God in prayer and asked Him to deliver her from the fat on her obese body. She told God that she was tired of being fat and wanted so desperately to be healthy so that she could play with her children without running out of breath. She desperately wanted to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without running out of breath.
You see, Bonnie was really tired of being “the big girl” where people wouldn’t call her pretty they’d say instead, “you have such a nice smile.” In addition to the social stigma of being overweight (where people think fat people lazy on sight), her knees hurt really badly and so did her back. She was always very fatigued, and this is no way to live when there are certain things that can be done to stop the mental, spiritual and physical torment of being overweight.
Bonnie felt as though God gave her a surge of energy and opportunity to reach her weight loss goal. When you’re truly in need of change, God will send a solution your way, like He did for Bonnie. She received a treadmill as a gift and she started using it everyday for an hour. Then she started to reduce her portion sizes at meal time to one serving (instead of three servings) and eliminating fast food out of her diet, this started an entire series of healthy lifestyle changes one step at a time.
She eventually lost over 100 pounds and later became a certified fitness instructor, life coach and holistic nutritionist. This was a miraculous transformation and Bonnie Mechelle gives 100% of the credit to God, she said she could not have done it without Him. Bonnie also had a supportive network of friends and family to keep her on track with her goals, so her success would not be possible without them too.
Bonnie soon realized that most people fail at weight loss because of three reasons #1 they’re not sure about the right way to lose weight #2 if they find something that works, they can’t stick to it and #3 they do not have the support of loving Christians in their corner to motivate them to continue when times get tough.
