Panic Attacks And Anxiety--7 Easy Ways To Control Them
by John Mowatt

Many people experience serious anxiety which can culminate in panic attacks. In a panic attack you are suffering from crippling anxiety about uncontrollable events. Your respiration becomes gasping and labored. Your heart is thumping in your chest. It seems as if the whole world is tightening in on you and you have a powerful desire to escape from it. Many people unfortunately undergo this very debilitating and scary form of panic attack. We have here seven good ways to avoid and correcting this attack.

1. talk to somebody regarding your problem. Tell a chum, your family or medical professional regarding what is making you anxious and heed their point of view about your panic attacks. People can be much better at seeing the mistakes of other people and getting the right view of them than at taking care of their own anxieties. You could aid the other person as well by discussing their anxieties. That is a really good way to get a clearer picture of your reasons for the problem.

2. Keep out of conversations and arguing with other people that could add to your problems. Keep clear of all kinds of annoying things that may add to your anxiety. If your children or family members have some problems ask them not to talk about them after dinner time. Make every evening an anxiety free zone before bedtime and concentrate on relaxation and enjoying the evening.

3. Get a smile on your countenance. Even when you don't feel like it, smile. It is very hard to feel anxious when you smile. Think about something pleasant and smile. Add some guffawing to the mix by viewing very funny comedy movies which really make you guffaw heartily. Laugh out loud and long. Laughing causes the release of endorphins within your body which remove stress causing hormones that contribute to your state of anxiety. Laughing is one of the very powerful anti-anxiety weapons you possess.

4. Think about only today's living. Do not attempt to foretell future difficulties which may never take place, and which you can,t do anything about at at the present time. Just live for the present day and tell yourself that you will handle problems to come if and when they come up. Should they crop up in your thinking just push them away right away and refuse to think about them.

5. Stay completely away from all beverages, foods or medicines which contain caffeine. Coffees, some teas, chocolate and certain medications including Excedrin contain some quantities of caffeine. Caffeine is known to cause anxiety and tension. It gives some people "the jitters".

6. Eat right and feel much better. Eat veggies, all kinds of fruits and whole grain cereals. Add to this menu good protein foods such as lean meat, fish, soy and lentils. These foods will cause your brain to produce serotonin which causes you to relax and feel calm.

7. Take some brisk exercise. Walk quickly, run, ride a bicycle--whatever you prefer. This is the finest therapy for a panic attack. Remove the problem by exercising strongly. This also causes your body to produce endorphins and gets your blood running swiftly to carry them throughout your body. This is the very best therapy for that "Can't breathe" experience which accompanies a panic attack. Do these few things and anxiety will not bother you any more.
