I began my working career in the advertising field. I felt that advertising agencies knew the secret to something that no one else seemed to understand. For ten years I was thrilled and fascinated to watch innovative, brilliant people create and produce advertising campaigns. While it was exciting to be a part of the creation and building of an unknown person, product or company into a known entity or product, I felt empty in my heart because I knew what they created was an external “image” and not always authentic.
I discovered the secret - energy inherent in shapes, color radiances, patterns and textures could be demonstrated in small configurations and represent the vibration of a whole human being! I was quick to realize that this discovery provided the basis for a self-evaluation which would enable people to simply and accurately determine their own “energetic,” thereby discovering their Essensce within.
Following extensive testing, the IlluminEssensce® Evaluation was patented as a system for self-typing of individual essences. The Evaluation transcends color, personality and the mind. I now had proof of what I had always known -- the basis of psychological and physical definition is not color or personality -- it is personal energetics.
Everyone is born within one of four Harmonic Tone categories. That same Harmonic Tone remains dominant throughout your lifetime. Just as your DNA will not change during your lifetime, neither will your Harmonic Tone. As an analogy, you might compare your Tone to a type of car. If it’s a BMW, it will always be a BMW. The four Harmonic Tones are the energetic blueprints for who you are. My intention in naming the types was to be distinct and avoid stereotypes and preconceived notions, so in 1988 I simply named them Harmonic Tone I, II, III and IV.

When I speak of Energetics, I am coining it as a noun, meaning a pattern of visible or invisible energy or force. Just as the Energetic of a rose (how it looks, smells and feels) is different from all other flowers, we are all an Energetic - each a vibrational field with our own unique harmony consisting of movement, scent, sound, shape, patterns, textures and pigments, which are all physical manifestations.
Essence is defined to be the basic nature of something. It is that special personal core spark that makes you who you are. Your essence is that unseen quality within your body and spirit.
