SAUDI WOMEN FINALLY OBTAIN VOTING RIGHTS AS WOMEN’S INFORMATION NETWORK (WIN) ANNOUNCES LOS ANGELES SUMMIT TO SOLVE OTHER PRESSING ISSUES
Women who want to super network for personal and professional growth and who share a global vision for strengthening women and families are invited to a WIN Global Women’s Summit October 28 and 29 in Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 27, 2011) After seven events abroad, the eighth in a series of WIN Global Women’s Summits will be held in Los Angeles October 28 and October 29, 2011 at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel at 9620 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles, California. See www.GlobalWomensSummits.com for information and tickets.
According to Women’s Information Network (WIN) Founder and CEO, Dr. Paula Fellingham, “There is an awakening and a rising up of women around the world that’s moving faster and reaching further than anything ever experienced in history.”
The women of Saudi Arabia may have to wait another four years to actually cast their first votes, but the “Women of The WIN” are already making their voices heard through the Summits.
The agenda for October 28 features training women to break the glass ceiling through entrepreneurism. Isn’t about time for women to take that on in earnest since 95% of American women influence all the buying decisions? Don’t women just need a wake-up call and the resources to foster the change they’ve been hoping for? Read more ...
New Facts on the Gender Gap from the World Bank
By Sudeep Reddy, The Wall Street Journal
The World Bank’s latest World Development Report, which focuses on gender equality around the world, offers some stark facts about how women and girls fare in developing countries despite decades of progress.
Wealth: Women represent 40% of the world’s labor force but hold just 1% of the world’s wealth.
Wages: Salaried women workers earn 62 cents for every $1 that men earn in Germany, 64 cents in India and about 80 cents in Mexico and Egypt. Women entrepreneurs fare far worse, earning 34 cents for every $1 men earn in Ethiopia and just 12 cents in Bangladesh relative to every $1 for men.
Mortality: Women and girls are more likely to die relative to men and boys in low and middle-income countries, with 3.9 million “missing” women and girls each year under the age of 60, the report says. At least 40% of those are never born, one-sixth die in infancy and a third in their reproductive years. The problem is worst in sub-Saharan Africa and countries hit by HIV/AIDS.
Education: Women now account for more than half the world’s university students, and 60 countries have more young women than men in universities. Primary-education disparities between boys and girls have closed in almost all nations. And in secondary education, girls now outnumber boys in 45 developing countries. But ethnicity combined with poverty can be a barrier: two-thirds of out-of-school girls around the world belong to ethnic minority groups. Read more ...

Coming Up With Profitable PR Ideas - Janette Burke
Coming-up with Profitable PR Ideas
By Janette Burke - Canada's Six-Figure Marketing/PR Coach
You’re anxious to see your name in print, and to appear on radio and television. But before you put your publicity plan in motion or pick-up the phone and pitch an editor, broadcaster or producer, you should know a few more things about the PR process.
Doing your homework, understanding the basics and thinking creatively, is where it all begins. In addition to being packaged and compiling a current list of media contacts and sources, you must come up with a list of clever ideas -- themes or angles that convey your marketing message and also relate to the needs of your target audiences, as well as to the needs of the publication’s readers, radio station’s listeners and TV show’s viewers you’re going after.
Make no mistake this process requires a great deal of time, effort and patience, but it doesn’t require any special training. Sure some of us are naturally more inclined towards creative marketing and promotion, but the truth is anyone who tries to generate good PR ideas for his or her business can. You just have to get your creative juices flowing.
If you’re finding that to be a difficult task, consider employing these measures: Read more ...
Cheryl Angela - A Sacred Journey
A Sacred Journey
Meet Cheryl Angela
Since early childhood Cheryl has had a deep appreciation of all of the arts and of the beauty that pervades our world as well as a deep interest in spirituality and an awareness of the Divine nature inherent in all beings. Cheryl was born to Irish parents and grew up and was educated in Nottingham, England.
Cheryl always had a love of Celtic music and the traditional music of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales that played in her home as well as the grandeur of classical music. As a child, she learned to play the guitar and loved to sing. She was involved in the dramatic arts and theater productions and still participates in many local productions from musical theater to opera.
My absolute love, however, was always the harp and I longed to learn to play the harp since as early as I can remember. The beauty, tranquility and purity of its sound always called to me. As soon as I began my amazing journey with the harp, it was clear I had come home to my instrument.
Cheryl’s Training
Cheryl is trained in harp therapy through the International Harp Therapy Program and interned in harp therapy at the San Diego Hospice. Learn more about harp therapy
Cheryl considers herself fortunate to have had many wonderful teachers and mentors with the harp along the way, including world-class harpist William Jackson and her teacher in Harp Therapy, Christina Tourin. Read more ...
7 Secrets to a flatter tum
7 surprising tips to a flatter tummy
Who doesn’t want a leaner stomach which they can be proud of? We all look on in envy as some people maintain a slimmer belly throughout life without much effort.
Well, we all know how important it is to eat right and exercise. That part is no secret. We know this is needed if we truly want to create a lean stomach as well as a healthy body. This article is not on how to exercise or eat right to reduce FAT around your stomach, but rather share with you some tips to feel less bloated around the tum and start you on your way to a leaner belly (so yes, you must start eating right and working out too!).
1) Cut back on Salt and increase your Water intake
Avoid salt and highly processed foods as the more sodium you eat, the more you will retain water, which adds to feeling bloated, can make you look puffy in the face (remember how you look after a dinner of instant noodles or pizza!). It can also contribute to a higher weight on the scales as you retain this extra water weight.
To compensate for this and something to do overall is to consume more water on a regular basis throughout the day.
2) Gulping air
Eating too quickly, gulping down drinks and chewing gum are some of the things that can contribute to a bloated stomach. Make sure you eat in a relaxed environment, eat mindfully and chew your food thoroughly before swallowing. Avoid sipping drinks through straws, instead sipping from a glass or a small mouthed sipper bottle.
These simple techniques really can reduce bloating. It is the little things that can add up.
3) Stress
We Are All Healers
In my book, Awakened Wisdom: A Guide to Reclaiming Your Brilliance, I describe a process through which every one of us may connect to the highest aspect of who we are. That is our Divine Essence. When in connection to greater and greater levels of our Divine Essence we become a catalyst for healing. In that way we are all healers and the only differences between us would be the amplitude or degree to which we own the gift of healing and the methodologies.
When I say that we are all healers I am referring first of all to the idea that we begin by being the healer for our own Self. We are made up of a number of interrelated systems of intelligence. The primary three are that of our mind intelligence, our body intelligence and our heart intelligence. Together these three intelligences combine and create a larger system that results in among other things our auric field. When we are in a vibrant state of being and all three of these intelligence systems are well and balanced then we also have a strong auric field. If any of these three intelligence systems is depleted or out of balance or in a state of disharmony then our auric field will reflect and reveal that.
As people learn to be able to see and experience auric fields then they may interact with their healing through the light body as well as through the doorway of each of the three intelligences. As most people do not develop the ability to interact with auric fields then the good news is that you may create powerful healing experiences for your Self directly through the three intelligences.
