Becoming a bounce-back person is not always easy, but resilience is a life-skill

Enthusiastic or Negative Attitudes- The Difference is Resilience

We all know someone who always seems upbeat and positive regardless of the setbacks or barriers they encounter. Even though they have difficulties and setbacks, they seem to take them in their stride.  Their enthusiastic attitude draws others to them.

Others, faced with the same circumstances, fall at the first hurdle, becoming unfocused, unproductive, stressed and depressed. Their negative attitude and lack of enthusiasm turns co-workers, family and friends off and they hasten to get away.

Chances are you have known someone who gives up to easily and is always blaming circumstances or other people for their lot in life.  You probably also could name someone who is able to hang on against all odds and keep trying to win the race.  Even if it meant adjusting the original plan or course of action, they did not give up easily or blame others.

What is the difference between the two people and their attitudes?  One big difference is resilience. The dictionary describes resilience as an occurrence of rebounding or springing back.

Resilience and Enthusiasm are Life Skills and can be learned

Life can be difficult and experiences can traumatize us, but you can learn to control how you respond to difficulties by adding resilience and enthusiasm to your life plan.

Enthusiasm is defined from the Greek words Theos, which means God.  The other two words are En-Tae which means within.  So enthusiasm means the “God Within.”  It is the shining source of goodness and respect for one’s self and others.

Both of these characteristics get bigger and better with practice and perseverance.  The more resilient and enthusiastic you are, the more you will draw those who are of the same persuasion to be in your circle of influence.

The more enthusiastic attitudes you display, the more enthusiastic opportunities and people you will bring into your life.  Working in this supportive atmosphere, you will grow beyond your wildest dreams.

Negative Attitudes Can Stop Your Progress

People don’t change when they feel good and everything is going right for them.  When things are going as planned, we pretty much do what we have been doing.  It is only when things go wrong or we hit a roadblock that we begin to look at our lives and evaluate our attitudes.

Pain and adversity pushes us to the final point; Do we give in or do we rise above?

As hard as it is to believe, many people continue in old habits, life styles, careers and relationships even though they are miserable.  Their negative attitude keeps them trapped, but comfortable in old beliefs.

Make a choice to be enthusiastic and embrace the possibilities in life.
