It is so amazing to tell stories with children. They are ever ready to enter into the world of imagination and be part of the story!  I learn so much from performing with children - they give me my best ideas. They are not saddled with the fear we adults seem to have of being judged and being wrong - till of course they get to a certain age! Despite my background in child development, I still have not been able to decide if it is possible to remain in that state of non-self judgement as an adult!

It is something I am working on all the time- the judging piece.Because I believe that our self critisism is what stops us from our brilliance!

Now -this is interesting - I started out to write about children and storytelling and look where I ended up! I guess that is what i needed to hear and maybe you too!

So listen to the story with your children - or without and let your imagaination soar! I think I did as I made this story my own.

We make old family recipes for the holidays, we sing while we cook and we tell stories. These are all part of Christmas with our family. From the oldest to the youngest, we look forward to all the laugher, silliness and the cooking. Oh the cooking...we HAVE to make the Ravioli, the Zeppoli, the...
christmas, joy,santa, elves, attitude,audacious joy
On Christmas Night, my family along with my 83 year old mother watched the movie Elf.  I have probably seen it twice before. It is such a funny movie and yes some say predictable and sappy, but I still tear up when the crowd starts singing for Santa. Watching this time I simply thought YES...
