Cure for the Mommy Tummy
Do you have poochy tummy? It may not be your fault. Your pooch can be a result from separated ab muscles, called a diastasis recti. And all of those crunches and ab workouts can actually make the injury worse!
Coach Sara Hatfield, owner of Maternal Fitness Montana, talks about a way to heal your core, called the Tupler Technique®, that literally can transform a waistline.
At www.maternalfitnessMT.comyou can learn more about diastasis and you'll see that Coach Sara is Montana's licensed Tupler Technique® provider. She has been a personal trainer and fitness educator since 2004. She has trained prenatal and postpartum clients in gyms and homes all over New York City, and she started the infamous Boot-y Camp in Brooklyn's Prospect Park where the workouts were tough and the motto was "Get your booty in shape!" Many of her students and clients complained over the years about their poochy post-baby bellies, so she learned Tupler Technique® to help them labor more wisely, lose their mummy tummies and reduce back pain. Teaching fitness classes six days a week for six years did have one negative effect for Sara: an exercise induced diastasis. She has had great success healing her own diastasis with Tupler Technique®. She went from three finger widths at the belly button down to one in just six weeks and lost an inch off her waist. But the real benefit for her and many clients was a major reduction in back pain.
Coach Sara encourages her clients to feel good about their bodies and to move away from negative self-talk. “Move your body every day and eat smart because you'll feel better, sleep better, and be able to meet your grandkids and touch your toes when you're 90. Those are valuable goals. Forget about looking like a supermodel and focus on feeling fantastic.”
