Parents model behavior for their children.

Like it or not - they watch your every move.

If you read - given an opportunity and nurturing environment - they will also try to read.

If you read the newspaper - they will consider reading the newspaper.

If you read magazines - they will consider reading magazines.

If you read books - they will consider reading books.

Our children learn what we teach them or what we allow to come into their daily environment.

If you want your children to read and do well in school - consider reading to them and as they grow older with them.

Reading to and with works well for younger children.

You can discuss readings with tweens, teens and young adults during family discussions.

Consider a creative wy to start or continue the reading process for your family.  Do a family history project.

First you need to go to Barnes and Nobles or the Public Library to gather information about conducting a family history (family geneology project).

Don't be afraid to consult with the librarian or your book seller.  They can direct you to books and other resources that might be helpful to you.
