No matter why tragedy you may face -- divorce, money woes, layoff, health problems -- you need the best network possible to not only survive but thrive. In 2009, I faced a very public layoff from a TV station, cancer scare and lightning strike to my home -- all in a little more than a month! But my family and I made it through because of my Girlfriends. They helped me form my own business, made meals and took care of me (and my family) after major surgery and even let me borrow electronics after lightning fried EVERYTHING. You may not be able to pick your parents and may or may not have picked a good spouse, but you can pick GREAT friends. The episode gives you an idea how an incredible Girlfriend Support System was a life saver for me and can do the same for you!
