"I'm not sure Skype will work very well for our interview," said Debbie Fletcher, author of the hilarious memoir, Bitten by Spain. "We may have to resort to two tin cans and a piece of string."

Typical Debbie! Finding humour in adversity has become her trademark and the way she has retained her sanity while living as a part-time wife with a menagerie of parrots, dogs and cats, in a converted finca in Spain.

Find out how she manages to see the funny side, and importantly, write about it effectively, in this interview.

Sadly, the string did break a few times during our conversations, but at least we saw the funny side, and hope you will too.
