How can a wounded crab and a few fish change the whole course of a relationship? How can a simple walk in a labyrinth shift your whole outlook on life?

Learn how Canadian-based founder of  'A joy Experiment' and 'Better World for Women' Melanie Anne Bitner opened to the profound teachings that Nature's Classroom provided for her on a retreat in Maui. Teachings which shifted her whole outlook on life.

"This was one of the best weeks of life!" says Melanie excitedly as she starts her story. She tells of how it came at the perfect time. Recently separated from her husband after 10 years together, she was a single mother of two young children and was in survival mode. "It was a challenging year!' she says and she knew she badly needed a vacation to heal and unwind. Along came The Peaceful Woman and beckoned her to Maui.

On the second day, with the help of a school of fish and a crippled crab, Melanie had an epiphany that would change her life. As the group approached the sacred pools on the afternoon itinerary, Melanie was drawn to one particular spot. She sat down and gazed into the water.

"When first looked into pool I saw it was teeming with life.  Stuff was going on apparently in a chaotic way. Lots of life going on." It reminded her of her life in a way. She closed her eyes and asked nature to show her what she needed to received.

When she opened her eyes she saw a that whole school of tiny fish previously swimming so chaotically we now  completely still and in alignment. 'They were in rows, staring up at me!' She watched, transfixed for a while, then opened her eyes again and they were still looking up at her. She felt soothed.  'It stilled mind and I felt in touch with nature for the first time in a long time.'

Then she noticed a crab and was immediately reminded of her husband - whose sign of the zodiac is Cancer. She noticed this crab had two back legs missing. The thought came that this was a wounded crab and the irony was not lost on her. She suddenly was able to see her husband in a new light and could be compassionate about his wounds. ironic. 'Many years of hurtful behavior suddenly shifted. This was a moment of ephiphany changed the landscape of this relationship forever.

'Over weeks and months that followed I reconnected with the openness in my heart and the vulnerability for both of us that allowed us to heal so many wounds from before and during our marriage. And I got a key sense of how one moment can shift perception and roll out to many lives."

Listen to the show and learn more about how Melanie connected more deeply with nature each day and how a short walk in a labyrinth helped her let go of her inner critic.

'The Passage taught me how I want to be in my life!' says Melanie. And not only that, I connected with a community of women. The women of my tribe!'
