Who Is the Real You?

This is the first line of a song I wrote about 4 months ago. At the time, I was writing this for a song group. It was an assignment in which I had to use these 2 words: vastness and pureness. I was not happy about this. What kind of words are those to have to put to into a song, I asked myself!!

But this is not supposed to me about me. It is for you. So what is the point you ask. I think it is about creativity and wonder.  You don’t always know what is happening when you start writing or painting or singing or doing anything creative. Sometimes you start in one place and end up in another. That is the wonder of the process. Sometimes the process is what it is all about!

It is exciting, scary, frustrating and exhilarating all at the same time. You feel fabulous simply doing it – whatever IT is for you.

So keep it up don’t give up and if you have not started, well don’t worry you will. Let me know how it goes.

Any by the way, please listen to the song in this episode! It asks a question I did not even realize I was asking. In fact when I wrote the song, the night before my class, I did not really know what it was about. The words and melody just came out – after the week of being annoyed.

 Love to you all,

Anne-Louise Sterry
