What are you communicating to yourself with a statement like that?

            “Watch, I’m a lousy putter”

What are you telling yourself when you're out on the golf course?

“Remember to be a lousy putter out here!”

Guess what? It's your belief that you're "a lousy putter" that is actually causing the problem!

YOU CREATED THAT BELIEF, probably because you hit some bad putts along the way. You picked up evidence for that belief that you were a lousy putter. So you reinforced it and it came back to you. You now have a new internal mantra:

"Hey, you're a bad putter. Make sure you miss this."

That's the essence of what you're saying, even though you may think you’re saying or thinking something else.

THE BELIEF THAT YOU ARE A BAD PUTTER IS WHAT IS ENERGIZING THE EXPERIENCE AND DELIVERING THE OUTCOME OF BAD PUTTS.

It's almost as though you were ordering "bad putting" from room service at a hotel. The act of focusing on “bad putting” or “I don’t putt well” is you putting in the call to the front desk. “Give me more bad putting, please! I want to miss this putt and I want to miss more putts.”

What do you believe?  What are you reinforcing about yourself?  What are you ordering from room service?

When you repeat the mantra, "I hope I don't miss it," what you're really saying is, "Miss it." The “I hope I don’t” vanishes! Our imagination sees only the pictures in the messages we send.

Our beliefs are formed at an early age. And once you are aware of them, you can focus on them or change them.

Most of the golfers I meet focus on externals of their game. And as a result, they never learn what they really need to learn in order to master their INNER game. .. which is what makes the great external swing possible. Every visible “great swing” proceeds from a repeatable internal mental process. And that internal process is always guided by your beliefs.

This applies on the golf course and off.

If what you’ve been working on so far has been limited to things like how you stand, how you hold the club, and what your follow-through should look like … you haven’t been doing the mental work necessary to take your game to the next level.

Have you ever wondered how the golf professionals you see on TV do what they do? Have you ever wondered how they always manage to swing so smoothly and make it all look so effortless? Have you ever watched them doing what they do, then gone out on the golf course to “try out” what you think you saw? Have you ever experienced that NOT working?

Yes -- the pros really do know a secret. They know something about their inner game. They know how to step into their “zone” of playing golf without thinking about technique.

Learn the simple ways to step into your zone. Learn the power of the Pre-shot routine.

Video intro to The Athletic Mindset, by Co-Author Linda Webb
The Athletic Mindset... Attitude is everything

Bio

Competing in and teaching different competitive sports - early on in racquetball and later in golf - led to Randy’s study in visualization and mind power. The moment she realized she could help people learn these skills, implement them into goals, and improve their golf and life, she began teaching the mental game to all of her students. When she left the country club business to create her company, Golf Mind Power, her philosophy to help golfers get out of their own way became a reality.

A deep desire to educate and enlighten people led Randy to develop empowerment corporate keynotes and country club workshops. Randy has a passion for her career that is evident the moment she takes the stage. Every presentation is unforgettable, filled with inspiration that allows people to explore the depths of their imaginations.  Her book, Your Inner Swing, will change the lives of those who read it. When the fire is ignited within, one no longer goes without.

The WIN Summer Celebration San Diego was a great event. It was about “Sharing Your Light”... and we did do just that! Men and women came from miles to not only share their light but to also listen to heart felt stories that moved you from within.

There were life-changing messages, great vendor tables, prizes and YES there was unlimited chocolate... so good!

I loved sharing my light of information on how to FLIP the switch to "ON". This is a simple technique we all possess... it's the power within us to visualize.

It seems many of us are more prone to complain (which is form of "asking") about what is terrible in our life or the darkness that surrounds us, vs the good things, the things we want or the light that surrounds us.

One of the things I shared with everyone was learning how to visualize what they WANT rather than what they DON'T WANT. Sometimes just seeing in your mind a familiar setting like your kitchen, will help you visualize other things that you want. Doing an exercise like visualizing something very familiar to you is a great way to start a new pattern of thought. It's up to you to change your thoughts. And you really can start today!

How have you, or could you share your knowledge to others of how they can FLIP their switch to ON? Feel free to share them here with others. You light will help others shine theirs!

Gratitude increases the Athletic Mindset

jeter

GRATITUDE BUILDS AN ATHLETIC MINDSET

The Power of Gratitude is an important aspect of attracting everything to you that you desire and deserve in your life. The power of gratitude will move mountains for you. Whatever it is you want in your life, you must first be grateful for all you have in this very moment.

The most powerful Universal Law is the Law of Attraction. The energy (vibrations) that you resonate and project through your thoughts, feelings, and emotions determines your “vibrational frequency”, which attracts positive and negative to you. Feeling grateful for everything in your life right now, is a very powerful positive frequency. The events, situations, and circumstances that you attract are all by-products of the Law of Attraction, whether you are aware or not.

When you are in a sincere state of gratitude, your energy (vibrational resonance) is one of acceptance and harmony. You propel this energy and as a result project a much higher vibrational frequency which is what attracts to you the events, conditions, and circumstances that you desire. Are you aware of what you are projecting?

Think of yourself as a giant magnet. No matter what you are feeling, whether its love, fear, anger, happiness, anger, joy, gratitude, etc. you are in essence creating a magnetic force that attracts and draws to you events, conditions and circumstances which are in direct connection to what you are feeling. Fear of something creates a magnetic force that attracts more of what you fear. Expressing Gratitude for any situation projects a magnetic force that draws to you more of what you are expressing gratitude for.

Become empowered to express sincere gratitude for whatever is currently happening in your life. You must become aware of this power to receive all this is good and right for you in complete abundance. The Law of Attraction is there (just like the Law of Gravity exists) whether you acknowledge it or not. The fact that YOU have the power to create your life on purpose! You create your Skin in the game!

Perception vs. Reality

What you perceive to be true, is true (for you). Your perception of something going wrong is only your perception. It is only wrong thought and wrong perceptions that are responsible for creations that show up in your life in the form of events, conditions and circumstances that you perceive as “going wrong.”

It’s important to recognize and express gratitude for the fact that EVERYTHING in your life is a vision, a creation that YOU formed in your mind that became thoughts first and into beliefs.

Here are 7 Grateful thoughts for you to consider:

1. Breathe and Say thank you! Inhale say, “thank”, and as you exhale say, “you”. Do this when you first wake up in the morning as you get out of bed. Your lungs will thank you too!

2. Be grateful for your food. Stop and really look at your food before you eat it. Take in the smells and think about all the people it took to get that food on your plate.

3. Be grateful for your pets. Look in there eyes as you pet them. Show them you are grateful for their warm nature and guidance they share with you.

4. Be grateful for your family & friends. Be present and tell them how you feel in the moment. Time is precious, we never know when it will be our last time to dance, play, sing, laugh, share a meal.

5. Be grateful you have a home and show some gratitude by keeping it tidy and clean.

6. Bless your body. Take a few deep breaths and exhale slowly, giving thanks for your health and vitality. Thank yourself for taking care of it!

7. Connect with a higher place of gratitude. Take a few minutes each day to reflect on the fact that a power greater than you exists and is working through you.

What are you grateful for?

How can you focus on being more grateful today?

I am thankful for you reading my blog. I am grateful for the ability to convey a message of helping others through educating, enlightening and empowering. If you learned something from this article, pass it on. You’ll be grateful you did!

Let me know thoughts. I’d love to hear from you.

Pay it Forward is a term that basically means to do for others, unselfishly, expecting nothing in return. And hopefully, who ever receives the “goodness” from others, will someday be able to pay it forward to someone else. And someday they too will do the same, and so on, and so on. It’s a wonderful attitude that benefits everyone.

Nashville, TN has been hit with the worst disaster that meteorologists are calling the 500-year flood, which caught thousands by surprise. As many as 90 percent of the homes hit by the waters did not have flood insurance, which makes financial healing just as important as physical cleanup. What are the communities doing to help each other? They are doing whatever they can in paying it forward!

Here are some super folks that have stepped up to the plate and to bat for others.

Super people…

Just ordinary folks like you and me giving their yard away… literally. You can find the goodness in people all around the Nashville area giving their stuff away right out on their yard… (which George Carlin said we’ve got too much “stuff” anyway). Except these aren’t “Yard Sales”, they are more like “Take my stuff for FREE sales”. It’s an attitude of gratitude that makes it all happen. This attitude is contagious!

Super stars…

Celebrities are some of the biggest philanthropists in the world. June 22nd some top names in the country music industry are getting together to raise money for the place they love and the people that call it home. Husband-and-wife hosts Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are paying it forward with “Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery”. This mega country concert to help others will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The lineup so far includes Tim and Faith, along with Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes and others.

“The damage that we’ve seen to people’s homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable. But we’ve seen the spirit of our community firsthand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help,” McGraw and Hill said in a statement.

“Nashville Rising” will benefit the Community Foundation, which provides philanthropic services in Middle Tennessee. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 14. More information is available at NashvilleRising.org.

Proceeds from the event are to go to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a nonprofit group that provides philanthropic services.
