• Type 1: Just follow Sarah's lead to create a bright, animated braid. Or add even more fun with asymmetrical braids—two braids of different widths on the same side.

• Type 2: Your braids look best when blended in with the rest of your hair. Create a softened braid by not pulling hair tight as you go, or by loosening hair with your fingers once the braid is finished.

• Type 3: Take your cue from Sarah for a rich, dynamic braid. Make sure you do this braid style right from the hairline so it's featured and creates texture. Move in an angle to make it edgy.

• Type 4: Your bold, striking beauty will look great with clean braids that create parallel lines. Follow other parallels in your features or create two symmetrical braids, side by side.
