Practice of mindfulness

Episode Number:
007
With:
Dalida Turkovic

In Neijia practice, like in all other disciplines of martial arts, the first step is to learn how to hold your body in a posture where energy channels are open and qi is grounded. The most common standing stance is Wuji (wudjee) Zhan Zhuang. Wuji in Chinese means Void, 'Without the Borders.' To understand it better you can refer to Wuji as the state before the creation of the Universe - Emptiness. It is also named Chaos because there is no order, duality in this state.

It is important to follow the directions for the posture and continuously scan body from the top of the head to the souls of your feet making sure position is adjusted and maintained. With this practice you will learn how to be present in your body in the state of mindfulness.

Suggestions for timing: start with 5 minutes on the first day and increase 1 minute for 21 days.
