When it comes to having a birthday party for your children here are a few tips I have learnt over the years to ensure success:-
• Prepare all food the day before
• Invite no more than 10 guests
• Have healthy options, and if possible gluten free options in party food
• No soft-drink
• Have designated party/play area
• Have plenty of water on hand
• Make sure you and your child eat before the party
• Ask a friend or older children to help with games and watching kids
• Have original party bags
• Invitations out at least 2 weeks before
• Have house or backyard ready for running, yelling, laughing, fighting and pure madness!
• Play music to help calm and focus kids.
• Have a loose schedule of welcome, game, food, game, cake, games, than play.
• On invitations ask parents if they will be attending, if they are needed to attend, if the child has eating preferences and what is finish time.
• A successful party usually goes for approx 1 ½ hours for young ones.
• Try to make as much food as you can, healthier and saves money.
• Involve your child in picking the theme and/or cake
• Google party games
• If decorating, decorate with age appropriate things, for e.g. 2 -3 year olds may do better without crepe paper and balloons that bust and can be swallowed. 5 -- 8 love piñatas however be aware of a boy running around with a stick!
• Talk to your child before party and fully prepare them with what manners you expect, what behaviour you expect etc.
